I love Ben Mendelsohn. I think Richard Shepard is a great director, especially for this series. That's about the only positives I have for this week, because, frankly, the "Hannah fucking a random guy every week with little thought to consequence" asides are getting really, really old. The show was called "SEX in the

I would start from the beginning, but personally, add the caveat that the first episode is the least strong of the series.

That cannot be true.

I think he did from the pilot….obviously the pilot was shot way earlier, I think during his ATT commercial days (please God let's never go back there again).

How unfortunate that Dan Stevens decided to opt out after the show built its story around his character…frankly, the tragic deaths of 2 main and well-loved characters in one season is a bit much. Lady Mary is essentially a straight bitch without Matthew. Not likable. The whole episode was a great clinic on how to

By the way, we all understand that this is "Sex and the City" for a different generation, right?*

Everytime I think this show cannot possibly get better, it does.

Man, what a drop off from last week. Last week's episode was beautiful and sad and thought-provoking. This episode was about, um, nothing, really. Oh, Ray and Adam take a jaunt to Staten Island. Marnie turns into a robot for her unattractive, obnoxious, irritating "artist" fuck buddy. Hannah gets heaps of praise and a

Using the name "Tahmoh Penikett" > Tahmoh Penikett.

Watch THE DYING GAUL. I assure you, that memory will not be unremembered.

I'm going to admit I was pleasantly surprised to learn the show was renewed, after being canceled for what….6 months?

Well, you DID dare us…

I wonder what the drop off was once Felicity asked a man if he'd ever had a finger up his ass before.

I can't give you an "Enlightened" example off the top, but I can say that Richard Shepard's direction of last night's "Girls" was quite distinct and set apart from other episodes. When I saw the credits, it clicked for me because the episode's nuances and shots reminded me a lot of THE MATADOR.

I almost stopped watching after the Pilot episode. Frankly, I think it's the weakest and really does not accurately reflect the show. Obviously, it was the *pilot*, so it was developed long before the rest of the season, but I can see how people were turned off if they only watched the first episode, as well.

No, I'm suggesting that people turned off by Lena's body are closeted homosexuals who are attracted to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Wow….that's pretty interesting. Although I can see how White's stuff is considered polarizing. On one hand you have THE SCHOOL OF ROCK. On the other, you have CHUCK AND BUCK. And White's been doing a lot more work with with latter style than the former—character studies, slow burn, introspective. I mean, that's not

I did that with "The Wire" for almost 10 years. Still ended up watching the shit out of it.

I'm encouraged by HBO's decision to air it after Girls on Sunday nights…I'm hoping it gets momentum by that. Because yeah, if it's not up by the end of this season it's done.

I appreciate the Thomas story line. But it's bullshit. Seriously, you're telling me that Lord Grantham sees red over his family being served lunch by a former prostitute, but he's "advanced" enough to just blow off a gay employee trying to make out with straight employee, to the degree that he would *make someone lie
