Trades guy here. That looks practical as hell. Dump a canopy (w a pipe rack) on it and I can access the front of the cargo area like a van or I can use the rear seats. Has a frunk for high value tools. I just might have to test drive the long range less bells and whistles version.

With an electric car, you dig a few holes once.

You know damn well there was some sea cans full of perishable goods that have stank up every can within a 6 can radius.....

Maybe captain Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee Fuk, Bang DingOw know something...

(Can’t delete this, wrong thread)

I’d buy a prius style Tacoma with 80KM of plug in range in a heartbeat. Electric if they can get the range beyond 600km but good luck with that.

This company claims this bike can do ‘light trail riding for 6 hours’. With a 6kWh battery. That gives you a power budget of 1000 watt hours per hour. In horsepower, that is a continuous output of 1.34HP assuming a spherical woodchuck in a vacuum with no losses in the motor, inverter or friction.

Comparing gas prices during the peak of the pandemic (and peak economic collapse) is sad and pathetic. Compare the pre-pandemic price.

Motorcycles are now banned from the Pikes Peak hill climb. maybe a name change is in order.

That ‘warranty’ does not include stone chips. Electrochromatic paint was invented several years back. Works great in the lab. Add in some stone chips or golf ball sized dents and you get a short circuit at the damage location. Aaaaaaaaand then the panel is dead.

Toyota says every model will have an electrified option by 2025. If I could buy a Hilux/Tacoma with a upsized prius style drivetrain and a front electric motor to get rid of the conventional 4wd system I would in a heartbeat. Especially if it can do 80KM of electric only range.

The hummer didn’t even come close to the original range promise. I am skeptical about the 400 mile range now.

I have solar and a EV battery in my bus for the coach battery and it kicks ass. Air conditioning works with zero effort. However we discovered during forest fires that solar output was 10% of normal. Plan ahead. We had to actually plug in as a fridge full of perishables needed attention.

Well it’s pretty obvious they will be introducing a per mile vehicle tax soon enough. They are just holding off until the EV fleet is a double digit number.

‘fitted a feature called MaxRegen’. Are you telling me the early feature had no regen at all?

The single most important thing about post apocalyptic technology is the ability to repair it yourself. Until Tesla gives us scan tool access, they can go f___ themselves.

Custom van culture died off with high fuel prices. There is no reason to believe that the electric cargo van revolution won’t bring it back. Maybe with 47% less shag carpeting. And it is a shame the Nauga is extinct.

Good luck off roading however.  It’ll be fine in the hard pack but as soon as you get into a soft hill you are DONE.

239 miles of range?!?! Chevy WAS claiming 350 miles initially. That is a serious state of the art fuckup. That’s 68.2% of the original estimate. What a disaster.

This is a bike dependent question. If you mount a phone on a buzzy KTM or Harley you will ruin it. If you mount it on a butter smooth goldwing you are fine.
