Yes, nothing so special about his situation. I’ve always told HR at the jobs that I’ve had to only pay me a minimum wage salary and setup the rest of my compensation as investments straight to my sharebuilder account.
It’s a “scam” because the actual money he gets from the company is paid out in stock options instead of salary, the same as if instead of getting a paycheck and taxed on it 44%, you just got options instead and taxed 15%.
