Pretty sure it's been done in software before too. Would even set temporary trouble codes. I think the message is the only new thing.

Mercedes has been using this since at least the 90's. Your 1980's central door lock pump probably did have this.
Thats what this is really. It’s been a thing in cars for decades. Just the warning message is new. Lets be real no one has noticed this before. No normal user will notice it now.
In modern cars the airbag control unit sends a digital signal and will just move the seat back a set amount. This motor lock out for overheat protection has been a thing for decades actually. Not just seats, windows, door locks, etc etc. Nothing new here
Good point. The truth though is that this has been a thing in cars for decades. Overheat protection. Windows, door locks... but who runs them that much to even notice? Yeah, no one
It has been a thing in many cars for decades. Seats, windows, door locks. It's just overheat protection. It's just no one ever actually runs these motors that much to trigger it. I've been a mercedes tech for over 25 years. This is nothing new except the warning message. No one ever complains about it because who runs…
Yep. It's just overheat protection. It's been a thing in cars for decades. You can include door locks, windows, closing assist motors etc etc. Nothing new here
This has been a thing in cars for decades. Seats, windows, door locks, closing assist motors. Its overheat protection. At least in higher end cars. But no normal person reaches these thresholds. Think about for a second just how much you would have to operate something to trigger the protection. Who does that? It's…
I’m sorry to inform you but this has been a thing for decades. Seats, window motors, door locks, closing assist motors for door and trunks. It’s just overheat protection. No average user is ever going to reach these thresholds which is why you have never heard of it before. I mean who sits there cycling door locks,…
This has been a thing in cars for decades. Seats, windows, door locks, closing assist doors or trunks. It has to do with heat and motor protections. No average customer will ever reach these thresholds to even notice.
Yep, and some use them as parking brakes inside of the disc hub.
Except you wont find those on this car. We know for a fact this is not a lug piloted wheel. Ase certified technician here. This point is irrelevant to this car.
The ground strap is a good place to start by then look of that engine bay.
I like him more in the media then on track. And I like him more then his dad.
It says a lot about redbull and the reality of their driver in that they feel they need to address this trying to prove he is a clean driver.
100$ says it didn’t. If anyone nut hasn’t been loosened the weight is on the hub. It would be insanely unsafe if lugs held the weight of the car. You can take all nuts off and it will sit on the hub.
Everywhere is somewhere
Ima be real honest with you here man. You're just as big of a bozo as the shop that broke your stud. Granted they were inexperienced and didn’t an impact wrench. But unless they put a long extension on it and jumped on it it’s not really their fault it broke.
Nice job, just fyi in a couple of things.
I’m not, it's like expecting a car salesman to actually know something about the car they are selling.
