HI, welcome to the world of cars. Speedometers are not calibrated to be 100% accurate. They get even less accurate as speed increases. Hence the reason they use GPS tracking to confirm the speed. Other wise we would just be watching a camera shot of the dash.

It looks like it’s a center console that a 2 seat sports car would have. But this goes to the roof for support to allow the back to be open. Leaving this open allows the rear passengers to see.each other and talk.

Honestly I believe it is the lack maintenance die to laziness or unknown. Very few people replace wipers enough or actually clean their windshield well enough to reduce wiper damage. Use washers when first turning on.

I lived in california and did not have this problem. Replace them at the right time of year. Also clean your windshield from debris will cut down cuts to the blade. Also use your washer to lubricate.

I don’t tint my lenses. I park in my own garage and haven't driven at night in almost 2 years. So if I did tint my lenses and my driving habits stayed the same where is the harm. Also what if it was my weekend car that i only took out during the day?
