I agree, part of what made it so enjoyable (and unsettling) is that it was full of uncanny moments. Situations that are vaguely familiar, you know there is something out of place yet you can’t really tell what it is. The freudian unheimlich.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things was my favorite film last year by far. Its so wonderfully weird, it really felt like reminiscing about the uncomfortable, fantasizing what if things had been just slightly different. A really fitting film for the lethargic eventfulness that was 2020.
