I haven't got to one of the boss fights yet, but since the game makes a huge point of letting you do everything bloodlessly, I'd say the guy at rockpapershotgun is right.

Is that the original version? It might be the japanese being spoken in the foreground,  or the shitty headphones I have at work, but I could swear that the lyrics sound a bit engrish-y.

Agreed. The guy was a prude.

Nah, I'm big enough of a nerd that I read up on that sort of stuff (to use in my home-made D&D campaigns, of course!) way before Dogma came out.
All that knowledge did make me enjoy the movie a lot more than I would have otherwise, though.

Metatron is the voice of god, IIRC - an angel that serves as his mouthpiece.

Oh god, those puns - don't make me throw the (good) boot at you.

Yeah, it's a pleasant surprise to read it's good. A lot of the things the review points out near the end are all things I remember thinking about the original.

Fogoso CancerSida para tu!

I just remember doing…. What they told me (told me told me told me)
Well, it's not as if Tate and co. have put out anything worthwhile since Promised Land (and that may be being generous.)

I liked Jennifer Government just fine for what it is. Characterization and dialogue were pretty bad, sure, but it kept moving at a tight clip. A fun read even after a very contrived last act.
This sounds magnitudes better, though. Especially if the characters are better drawn.

I dunno - listening to this commentary track seems a lot more fun than watching the movie it's for. Though I do suppose they trawl through a number of others that aren't really interesting enough for this feature.

The PS360 fist of the North Star game is in no way good. In fact, it's a complete an utter piece of shit. It's a slower-moving Dynasty Warriors, with really lousy character handling.
I dunno, maybe I didn't give it enough time, or just didn't click with it, but I got so bored of it after a couple of levels I just

Still, not one of these comes even close to the inspired idiocy of a pool drain sucking out a guy's innards through his asshole, and then shooting them out towards the camera (3d, remember?) through a pipe/filter on the other side of the pool.
This is an actual thing that happens in one of these movies. And yet, they

I knew this thread reminded me of something:

Always meant to have a look at it, but then forgot about it. It's a french adventure game played exclusively through surveillance cameras.

Yeah, stone soup is great, and I prefer my roguelikes to have a lot more features. Still, DoD scratches a completely different itch for me - more like a RL score attack, if that makes sense.

Looks like a good haul this month
the big release schedule looks a bit fallow this month ,at least until Deus Ex 3 comes out. These will tide me over nicely… Awesome column, as always (even if you gave Dungeons of Dredmore anything less than an A^)

I think it really depends on what comes out on any given week. Since they only do a couple of reviews a week, and try to cover major releases, then a lot of stuff gets left out.
Paradox, the publisher for this, puts out some pretty great games - shame this one seems to suck.

Great little game
I'm a sucker for explore 'em ups, so it was pretty much a given that I'd like this - especially when it's this well-made. Ignore the Solar Jetman comparison, controlling the ship here is a zinch; this game is more in the metroidvania side of things, just without the platforming. It's fairly similar

@ lovecraft & Godot - that's pretty much my take on it,, from the little that I've read. And slotting Mieville or Powers' books into steampunk just rubs me the wrong way.
