Whitesnake is one of the cheesiest, wankiest bands I know of. I'll stand up for their first few records, though - black and blue remains a personal favorite.

It was nothing but a good time, but you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone…
Ha!
Misread the band name as Dolorean, was getting some severe cognitive dissonance until I realized my mistake.
Richard Thompson's Psycho Street
Probably doesn't qualify because it's not sung from a nutjob's perspective, just singing about them, but it's full of great lines:
Well, when I say a large part of Buenos Aires, I mostly mean the posher areas. The majority of people in the city descend from Italian and Spanish stock, so you're mostly right, but argentinians on the whole are a lot lighter-skinned than the average Colombian or Brazilian.
And you can bet your ass that the average…
I lived in Argentina for twenty years, and I can attest that, at least if we're talking about a large part of Buenos Aires or the Patagonia, you could easily think you're in Europe. Lots and lots of very pale, fair-haired people.
That doesn't invalidate the point, though. It's not just the people who look like a…
Hey, I still like Frighteners. It's got all the seeds of Peter Jackson's flaws as a director (which flowered with a vengeance on King Kong and Lovely Bones) and the CGI is badly dated, but it's still a lot of fun. And the whole sequence in the hospital near the end is truly great.
A bit late, but for what it's worth - I honestly loved the scene I describe above.
I'm not going to defend all of the writing in AP (and yes, the main character's lines are mostly terrible,) but I wasn't being ironic or anything. The sex scene with SIE is extremely funny, well-enough written, very lewd (for mainsteam…
This game also has a sex scene that is not only not cringeworthy, but also absolutely hilarious. Possibly the funniest scene I've seen in a game this year so far.
Yep. Mask of the Betrayer was the only game I'd mention in the same breath as Planescape:Torment. The problem? Well, it used the NWN2 interface, which was fucking horrible and damn near broken.
I'd much prefer the apocalypse in the Bird of Death. Which, by the way, is the reason I've given Ellison a lifetime pass, all his douchebaggery notwithstanding.
Has this guy ever done anything deserving less than a B? My favorite would be I break Chairs, but that's hardly representative, I guess. Other than that I'd have to pick Where Shall you Take Me, probably because it's the first CD of his I had.
I hogtied one and dropped her on the nearest railroad track, laughing all the time and lamenting that Marston had no moustache to twirl.
I waited for the train, waited, waited and waited some more, and the damn thing never came. In the end I knifed her in frustration.
Haven't noticed a direct reference (yet), but the Oil camp is called Plainview - made me laugh.
Did someone mention psychonauts?
Haven't tried it yet, but in GTA4 you could disable lock-on - is that not an option any more?
I… that's… Oh god. I'd be afraid to play that game, Sheltie. What a great idea.
Holy shit. A console thread with civilized discussion and only a couple of fanboy comments. Good job, AV club!
I loved Outlaws on the PC. I enjoyed Call of Juarez 2 a *lot*, easily one of the more underrated FPSs on this gen.
Heavy rain did at no point do anything better than Farenheit/Indigo Prophecy's first scene.
It also didn't go batshit insane; it just stayed drably mediocre throughout most of its run. What a huge disapointment. Worst thing is, it sold fairly well, and the critics lapped it up, so everyone in the industry will be sure…
