Or, you know, it's continuing the styling feature of the F40, F50, 288 GTO, 308, etc...
In two separate interviews Brian Scott has said that he saw the #7 get turned coming off of turn 4, and that he kept his foot to the floor to make it to the line with as much momentum as possible to get to the line even if that meant getting in the wreck, bc its the last lap and you have no other choice.
