The problem is that Bill Clinton was considered to be our first “Black” President. People of color are very loyal and they are sticking with Hillary, for now. Sanders has been making inroads in those communities. His sincerity will win many of them over.

How is it patronising? It’s perfectly valid in a discussion about politics to wonder why a group votes one way and not another. For instance, I often wonder why Tea Party supporters vote against their own interests. Lots of them are poor, unemployed and rely on Medicare. And yet they support candidates who want to

Given that Sanders is more progressive than Clinton in civil liberty and social welfare issues, it seems to me that minority voters who support Clinton over Sanders are really shooting themselves in their own feet here.

According to Wikipedia, Roddenberry originally intended her to be nothing but Eye-candy with 4(!) Breasts, so you can thank him for that bit of 60s chauvinism.

- But the concept of him being a destructive force and still struggling with his ideas of the “sanctity of life” are fine in the movie.

An inexperienced and naive youth struggling to atone for his guilt as he matures into a hero...that’s Spiderman.

You know, Man of Steel has a moment during the last fight, where Zod grabs an oil tank truck and hurls it at Supes, who hovers over it, and the truck slams into the building in the back, exploding into a furious fireball of destruction.

If they wanted to show him struggling with life and death, they could have shown him trying to save the citizens of Metropolis. Even if Zod kept stopping him at every turn, any kind of attempt would have at least have shown a basic understanding of the character.

I hate that defense. Sure, it was his first day as a superhero. Ive yet to spend a single day super-heroing, and yet I know that knocking down a building full of people, then ignoring the survivors to go make out is BAD. I don’t need to do it first to learn this.

Her slutty sluttiness is one of the main things I love about Phryne. Another thing I love about her is that she would not give a flying fuck (in a Gypsy Moth, of course) about what the Netflix reviewers or anyone else says.

Ohhhh, must check out the novels, too! (I can't even remember how I learned about Phryne the courtesan, but I'm a writer and thus full of strange and typically useless information ...)

If you read the original novels, you will see that Kerry Greenwood is well aware of the connection (she is a bit of a classics buff) :-)

promiscuous sex you say? added to queue.

Man, screw you guys. If you seriously can't handle an adult woman having sex with multiple partners you probably shouldn't be watching tv. Or reading books. Or really doing anything where you may be exposed to women with control of their own sex lives.

And I will try this new series, but my favorite 1920s lady

Whereas Alfred is the most perfect bromance ever — he cooks, he cleans, he does laundry and a little light fetish tailoring between field surgery. Oh, and he's totally cool when you're out all night with that Joker skank.

She already came back in Gail Simone's Atom run as the chief of Ivy Town

Except Olivia Benson can't juggle career and relationships — although she's a magnet for assholes.

Funny thing, the character was actually brought back in Gail Simone's The All New Atom.

My favorite part about Lady Cop is that she has the maniacal crime-fighting drive of Batman, but is saddled with a shitty boyfriend instead of Alfred.

I think we've found a superhero role for Piper Perabo. :)
