Like when Daniel Craig's 007 leaps off the crashing part of a train and into a still-intact car in Skyfall, looking cool enough to check his shirt cuffs once he regains his footing, @avclub-c1a181c99ac4568d774b6585bc0a2153:disqus ?

@avclub-c1a181c99ac4568d774b6585bc0a2153:disqus - isn't most of that cost the initial development of new CGI programs, though? Once it's done and available (and paid-for), the cost really starts to drop - which is why you can find freebie CGI gunfire and explosion packages just about anywhere now.

Sounds great, @lindsayfunke:disqus ! Wash it down with your beverage of choice, and lots of it!

Foreign tax breaks/the EU help a lot for GoT, @avclub-7d640ca825f963b9fc36e0857c0b39e5:disqus . At a big SF/Media Con over the summer, I got to listen to Eugene Simon (Lancel Lannister from Games of Thrones) rant for the better part of an hour about Brexit, and how it was going to ruin everything for productions

Also, global licensing rights to the music really tends to add up, @lindsayfunke:disqus - especially if the music's still earning money.

That's IT, @bizarrosacrelicious:disqus ! Donald Trump is actually Bizarro!

I would shudder to think about love to see how their algorithm to ascertain that works, @Killsqu8d:disqus .

And here I thought it was The Low Countries, @yourrageissad:disqus !

What cracks me up is Netflix spending a flipping fortune on a series about The History of Hip-Hop - by a White Australian, @yourrageissad:disqus !

You're gonna party like it's 1929, @TheOligarchicMe:disqus ?

You know I don't agree with that at all, @douayrheimschalloner:disqus - I believe the first season was necessary to establish a complicated (for CBS audiences, certainly!) premise and show it working as it was supposed to, before they started to mess with it with their serialized arcs. Even so, the series cleverly

Go wrong…go wrong…go wrong…wrong…wrong….

Also that classic Black Eagle, starring an unknown Jean-Claude van Damme as a Soviet Spy Soldier Something….

I suspect Nolan wants to set up his universe and premise before he expands outward, @douayrheimschalloner:disqus .

Oh, I did, @AmaltheaElanor:disqus ! I honestly thought Katie Cassidy was the worst actor I'd seen on television since - ever, and wondered WTF they bothered casting her.

A Secular Humanist a-MEN! to that, @Cerusee:disqus !

BEWARE THE KARDSHIAN FLEET!

Kristen Stewart always struck me as a better actress than Twilight let her be - and it's good to see her push on more challenging roles rather than cashing paychecks (Tom Cruise, I'm looking at you!).

To be fair, @AmaltheaElanor:disqus , the younger actors for the bulk of Season One were kind of…lacking. Amell was a great physical presence and could do emotion while in action, but give him lines of dialogue and make him stand still? He was - weak, really weak, especially in the early going.

I await the day an ex-Marvel writer has some schmuck invoke a demon by chanting "Perlmutter" over and over, @avclub-91546109eaf110327d50b0955865712a:disqus.
