Yeah, pretty much.

And how biomedical researchers were able to get funding from public entities.

I’ve almost exclusively had the opposite experience. Demos have only once or twice convinced me to buy a game, and often convinced me not to.

I actually played a manshep without any difficulty. He was still grounded in the universe. He voice acting was a little worse but it’s not like he was a fundamentally different character than femshep.

I also had ENORMOUS difficulty connecting with my inquisitor. Between the flashback oriented first level, the lack of grounding details, and the general disconnect I felt between her and the rest of the game I just could never, ever get invested. She was flat and after a while I just realized I didn’t care anymore.

Yeah, I never thought I’d say this but ten years into Al Franken’s senate career I’d hear his pitch that he should be president.

To be clear, I rather like the blood moon mechanic. I think it effectively addresses the problems you mention, and no question adds more to the game than it removes. I just ALSO think it maybe doesn’t synergize super well with the weapon durability system as implemented.

That’s good! It makes it less of a diminishing returns problem.

I think the other aspect is the way enemies respawn. There’s room for serious weapon breakage as a part of memorable emergent gameplay, but the blood moons subvert that.

Can confirm, would play it

It’s that old problem that stems from the way we’ve been pretty successfully sold then idea that bigotry is generically bad without any real attack on the nasty details of actual bigotted perspectives.

I think he just couldn’t see it for what it was. I think he went “Men using the women’s room? Slam DUNK.” And it just ran away from him because he wouldn’t take a step back to see why this was fast becoming a dangerous position to defend.

Huh, where is the flint? I had to do the island two or three times and I never saw any.

Whenever I’ve tried that it was still raining at the end of the rest.

The two or three times I’ve tried that it was still raining when the wait ended, so I figured it only changed time of day and didn’t cycle the weather. Maybe my luck is just atrocious?

Yeah, waiting for the ONE five minute window where I could fight the Hinox without being struck by lightning (for the third time) was the woooorst.

The Eventide island encounter is made INFINITELY WORSE by this.

I have the full set and it doesn’t solve the problem.

Watch out for donkey carts, I guess.

The problem we have is that there’s nothing anywhere in US law or practice that officially says it’s BAD to be a fascist. If the media goes hardcore “THESE GUYS ARE FASCISTS AND IT’S BAD” then the response from the right is “that’s just your opinion” and then, awkwardly, it is.
