They need more gravel traps and grass in F1, and actually penalize drivers who cut the track. When Indycar and NASCAR went to COTA, they had a field day with the runoffs and went feet off the racing line.

The runoffs are there for safety, they’re not going anywhere, but if drivers keep using them as an extension to the track, stewards will have to intervene.
