This happened today because they were running up a 5-year statute of limitations on some of Manafort’s work. Of course since his specific conspiracy was ongoing until 2017 and since his work for the campaign and at the convention is still very suspect, they want this to use as pressure on Manafort for that.

Papadopoulos was working for the Trump campaign trying to set up meetings between the campaign and Russian contacts/officials. The charges against Manafort lead me to believe Kushner could be next (specifically the failure to disclose foreign banking and financial records), as well as the fact that both of them were in on the Trump Jr. Russia meeting.

I know you’re being sarcastic but literally the first comment on the NYT article on Facebook was about how all the members of Congress who approved that uranium deal with Russia are all Hillary Clinton’s cronies.
