Honestly, as much as I dislike Snyder artistically, I find myself liking Man Of Steel. It’s not perfect and it’s not even a great Superman movie, but it just has a je ne sais quois.

I think much of the excitement is less “RTD is soo dreamy!!1" than “There’s hope for a watchable show now and holy shit Chibnall is even more dreadful in comparison”
Mustn’t one have expectations in order to be disappointed?
Warner Brothers only letting the reviews out now shows that they had absolutely no faith in the movie despite it being a sequel to the DCEU’s biggest success. I wasn’t going to see it anyway, but that’s not going to help.
They probably needed a conviction to trigger whatever behavior clause was in his contract to avoid a massive payout to cancel the contract. While it would have looked way better for them to drop him months ago, gotta pinch those pennies when your brand is in trouble.
Recasting and keeping the plot elements works for the characters. Of the named Avengers, only the Ant-Family and Loki have interacted with a version of Kang, and Loki himself is no longer a moving piece on the board. Everyone else can be told that it is “Kang” and wouldn’t have any frame of reference. Now, the…
I mean, we all did that with Rhodey, didn’t we? Worked like a charm.
Cast Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Kang. It seemed they were leading into her being a Kang variant with the Loki S2 plotline anyway.
Nobody cares about The High Evolutionary outside of Guardians vol. 3. Just recast Kang with Chukwudi Iwuji and either say High Evolutionary was a variant or ignore it entirely.
If Antman can kick your ass, you’re not much of a threat anyway.
Is he now cosplaying as Jeff Bridges in that header pic?
“For the last four years, I’ve tried to get an answer for why we’re not on streaming,” [Barry] Levinson said. “No one, I mean no one, has been able to give me an answer. There’s money to be made. You can’t figure out how to handle whatever rights issues that may come up? You’re talking over 120-some episodes. And…
How revolutionary, and how hard NBC tried to fuck with it in search of ratings. We’re lucky we got what we did out of the show (in terms of number of episodes), but what we did get was, by and large, amazing, particularly the early years.
I assume the Munch comment in the article was talking about the character’s endurance, as he’s appeared in numerous other shows and thus had the most “staying power” of the characters in Homicide.
It’s hard to understate how revolutionary Homicide: Life on the Streets was in its time, but I urge everyone who hasn’t seen it to watch and notice just how good Braugher is in it. I’ll be rewatching and remember him.
To me Homicide is the best ever TV cop show and it is not terribly close
My guess is that whatever deity you worship doesn’t want to be reunited with assholes like Sorbo and James Woods.
Wow, that sucks. I loved him in everything I saw him in, but he’ll always be Pembleton to me. In a show filled with incredible performances he still stood out and even elevated those around him. Pembleton in the box was truly something to behold.
Yes! Is it set in the 80s agai- *series of shots of twerking* Oh, I guess not.
