(Marilyn Manson)
Lennon was a scumbag with anger management issues but there is to my knowledge only one credible accusation of Bowie having had sex with someone underaged and “accusation” may be the wrong word since Lori Mattix volunteered the story and consistently described the encounter for decades afterward as enthusiastically…
From all accounts, the show is just a beast to make, especially if you’re used to the normally pretty sedate pace of British TV work. Location shots, CGI work, tons of running around, enormous amounts of pressure and press interest. At least two of the actors playing the part post-reboot managed to acquire a major leg…
Yeah, it’s almost like Grade was sleeping with Baker’s ex-wife oh wait that actually was exactly what was happening. 🤣
My assumption had always been that Worthington’s agent somehow had access to Harvey Weinstein’s ex-mossad private investigator blackmail files on half of Hollywood because I really can’t think of a reasonable explanation for how he ended up cast in nearly everything for a solid 3-4 year period there.
I just want to say that although technically the moment has passed (was the moment ever really there?) I am always, always here for Sam Worthington jokes.
And it casts a long, dark shadow over the Chibnall era.
Sadly I think you’re right: unless the ratings crater worldwide, we’re clearly in “too big to fail” territory here.
Hell, not only did Anderson spend most of her childhood in the UK, she’s got an OBE. I expect that if she wanted citizenship it’d be hers for the asking and they’d be happy to claim her. :)
Sigh, that’s depressingly spot-on.
People seem to generally like Broadchurch, but I think the moral there is that if you cast David Tennant and Olivia Colman and Jodie Whitaker and Arthur Darvill you can paper over an impressive amount of complete nonsense in the writing.
It’s fucking maddening. On the rare occasions when the writers bother to give her anything to do, she’s recognizably good in the part. Maybe even really good, but the scripts make it so hard to tell. But in terms of talent being flat-out wasted, she’s neck and neck with Peter Davison.
At the risk of echoing more or less everyone: Whitaker leaving and Chibnall staying is pretty much the exact opposite of what I’d like to see from the show right now and it’s a damn shame that she’s likely going to leave the show with the lowest number of quality episodes under her belt since — gulp — Colin Baker.
Okay, that’s fair. :)
She couldn’t pull off anything
It was extremely necessary for Grace Jones to terrorize Roger Moore with a huge black dildo while they were filming.
the terrible Duran Duran song
Yeah, I really do wonder how much of it boiled down to availability and the fact that Chibnall clearly wanted the job. It’s legendarily difficult and life-consuming, and somewhat unusual for british TV in that there’s an expectation that you’ll commit to doing it for several years straight. Plus you have to move to…
I actually really like S8 on balance, but while “Kill the Moon” has its defenders... I am not one of them. That thing was a mess.
