Agree. The original does not age well, and the sequel proves what a bunch of spoiled brats these women are.

Here’s hoping the call was about Zaslav selling it to them. He doesn’t give a shit, needs all the cash he can get to get the debt down so he can sell WB to some other schmuck. Let a channel like that be owned by people who actually give a shit.
Meanwhile, Ted Turner himself popped out of the tomb he presumably sleeps in to finish colorizing Citizen Cane.
“isn’t the usual slop of original programming, reality/competition shows, and reruns”
Zaslav has quickly turned Discovery+ Warner in to another huge corporate dumpster fire!
Spielberg and Anderson (minus a Scorsese, add a Ben Mankiewicz) talked to this turd-ball a mere 2 months ago at the TCM festival and he went on and on about how much he loves TCM and how he’s never gonna do anything to hurt it. nice one
It’s pretty impressive how quickly Zaslav has become the most hated guy in TV lately. It's extremely well deserved though. That guy is a flaming sack of shit
I’m sure they calmed down once Zaslav explained how the move will maximize value for shareholders.
I doubt it’s in “trouble” trouble from a financial perspective, but clearly returns are diminishing and popular reaction has generally been “it was pretty good” for a while now. I’m not hearing Onward championed as some overlooked masterpiece that people couldn’t see because of COVID lockdowns. A Pixar release used to…
Also- the last two movies I took my kids too were just SO long. Not just the movie, but the whole movie-going experience. The last three movies that we saw, I had to sit through TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES of trailers—including Elemental every time—made me really not want to see this movie at all. Just watching the trailer…
I “clocked” the Robeson joke, but I am 57 years old and studied that period of history in college(and wrote a 15 page paper on music and radical politics). I imagine it sailed over the head of most people under retirement age. I imagine the “spook” joke did also, since that is both an archaic slur, and archaic term…
Pixar needs to grow out of its “house look”. They do keep improving the quality of their environments and the expressiveness of their characters and I love ever-advancing technical developments as much as anyone, but in the meantime the Spiderverse movies have exploded the idea of what a CG animated aesthetic can be.
True! I was kind of shocked that a large popcorn/nachos/a fountain drink ran only $25.
Amazing what you enjoy in life when you hit “skip intro” a lot.
Elio already has a trailer out:
You take that back! I’m expecting my 4K Steelbook of Mars Needs Moms 3: Mars Also Needs Non-Binary Parents to arrive in the mail any day now!
City movie theater prices suck :(
i know a lot of people think the main reason is ‘everyone was trained to watch pixar movies on disney+’ but i don’t think it’s that.
This show has one very difficult task ahead of it, in NOT feeling like it’s giving the message “Immigrant refugees are evil and will try to steal your country, no matter how sympathetic they might seem at first.” And so far it seems the major counter to that is having Talos as a token “one of the good ones,” which…
God, the AI-Generated opening credits are terrible, both ethically and in their quality.
