“Hello Zombie Siegfried!”

I bet she stacks some motherfuckin’ pennies with a Pyrex cup and a length of silicon bronze.

It’s an elitism thing. None of the zombies are willing to admit Harvard brains taste the same as any other.

It was actually for hiding from the space monkeys. Which that movie also had.

His Dawn of the Dead is about as satirical as Romero’s, which is both intended as slight praise to Snyder and Gunn (who turned things into a tight little post-9/11 War-On-Terror parable) and a slight insult to Romero (whose films are great, but about as subtle as a protest placard upside the head).

Does this mean Chinese movies don’t base a lot of their plots around misunderstandings that could be cleared up if two characters worked together or talked it out?

You didn’t like the Moon camouflage uniforms in Ad Astra? For, I guess, blending in on the Moon’s surface.  When you aren’t in a space suit. just hanging out on the Moon in your uniform. As one does.

The stuff about a post-scarcity, post-racial, post-national socialist utopia dedicated to the quest for knowledge gets lost on a lot of the fans (See: McVeigh, Timothy)

That’s a bit of an exaggeration. There are plenty of movies made in China that don’t mention politics at all. What is more to the point is that they can’t be critical of the Communist Party when it is presented at all.

I am pretty sure he’s more recognizable from his movie roles.

I was just watching in YT that the richest people in the world increased their fortunes by more than 8 trillion in the pandemic. We’re doomed.

The premise being that humans might cooperate in front of common danger. Covid and global warming taught us how ludicrous it is. I love “Space 1999" stuff, but we can only stretch disbelief so far.

Good to hear that Bautista is a nice guy. I don’t follow his former profession at all, so the first time I ever heard of him was in Guardians of the Galaxy. I’ve seen him in a few things since then and he’s reliably good even in movies that really don’t deserve it.

Zack Snyder clearly loves “Brazil” everything by Alan Moore and everything by Romero...too bad he doesn’t seem to have watched or read those things or taken anything from them

LoL I came dangerously close to watching Sucker Punch. Ended up listening to the How Did This Get Made episode on it and I feel like I got everything I needed out of the movie without having to watch it.

now I want the countermovie of an elite team of Zombies breaking into Harvard to steal delicious brains: Stealing Harvard 2

be careful, that’s how I wound up watching Sucker Punch...which is, for my money, worse than “The Room”

My opinion was affected by the fact that I did not realize it was a Big Dumb Action Movie, I thought it was more thoughtful SF. That said, it’s a perfectly fine Big Dumb Action Movie.

So, I guess this article decided not to mention Dave Bautista, the supposed lead in this film.

I saw this in the theater during its brief US run, and enjoyed it both for its earnest Big Dumb Disaster Movie spectacle, and its creepy paternalist/collectivist undertones (the escape plan involves precipitating natural disasters that apparently kill off over a billion people as a “necessary sacrifice”). The
