I do sometimes wonder if we could maybe have a version of Sherlock Holmes that doesn’t emphasize his drug use like they’re the first one to realise that, hang on guys, Holmes did cocaine every so often, how edgy! Like, I get it, if you’re looking for a flaw for him it’s a quick and convenient one to latch on to, but

So... absolutely no connection whatsoever to the stories except for the name and everything being vaguely London-esque.  Good to know.

I saw one of them sold a drama about cryogenics to NBC...about a year and a half ago. No idea if it’s still in development.

He ought to leave in on those funny defensive semi-threats Biden makes to reporters. The “c’mon, man!” type stuff.

Yep.

Spice Girls actually predates Backstreet, N’Sync, Brittany, and Christina. This in turn grants them a level of “protection” from being associated with the late 90s teenybopper crazy and positions them more into the mid-90s (IE 1994-1997) girl power crazy that gave us Garbage, No Doubt, Meridith Brookes, Alanis

Well, it’s sort of possible to imagine having fun listening to the first Spice Girls album as a girl in the 90s. I can’t force my mind into the shape of the kind of alien consciousness that would enjoy Dr. Phil.

“If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends” is probably a more useful direction than anything Dr Phil has ever offered.

70 million voted for Trump. Nothing surprises me anymore

Aren’t we suppose to say “Doctor” Phail

At least each of those 23 million people can tell you what they want. What they really, really want.

I honestly think I’d rather listen to “Wannabe” on repeat for an hour every day than watch a single episode of Dr. Phil.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that 2.5 million people watch Dr. Phil, but I’m kind of surprised that 2.5 million people watch Dr. Phil.

the soundtrack is next level. That was a great recommendation

This place used to be absolute nirvana for TV Show Reviews. What I would do for Emily VanDerWerff’s writing to be back here. Her Sopranos reviews are absolutely magnificent and luckily are persevered; I had the good fortune of being able to read along with them last year. I’m also sad that John Teti’s Six Feet Under

Ah, sure. I’m just sad that 5 years ago, I would have learned about a wonderful show like Single Parents via the AV Club reviewing it.

I hear ya Jesse. And you’re after my own heart mentioning Rabin’s 30 Rock reviews; they were lazy and bad.

Agreed. Aside from Gladiator, which she was great in, all I can recall is her being one of Lars Ulrich’s ex-wives.

Now playing

Hot damn, just watched the trailer (or whatever this is). Looks and sounds amazing.

I’m willing to let them take a shot at it regardless....
