A branding change wouldn’t be that onerous, as others have pointed out. And the whole thing does show how petty the British Royal Family is being about this.

OK, we can all go home now. You just won the comment thread 😂

Send some of those preserved lemons my way! ;)

If you have lemons with a lot of pith, make some preserved lemons. One of the simplest and most delicious pickled things there is. Mmmm...Moroccan Chicken Tangine with preserved lemons and olives...

I’m just now catching up on season one of Altered Carbon (live action) and really getting in to it. It was one of my favorite “cyberpunk” SF novels and the show, which, errr... altered the plot some, is quite good. Looking forward to the anime and to season two with Anthony Mackie as Takeshi Kovacs.

Well, I did say it wasn’t the same as the aluminum compound in commercial antiperspirants - which is aluminum chlorohydrate. Which, to be clear, hasn’t been definitively shown to be harmful to humans when applied to the skin either.

Yowza these products are expensive! For years, people (in Asia especially) have simply used Alum blocks dampened with a bit of water and rubbed on their pits. Basically, the idea is that you shower/bathe as normal, wash your pits, and then rub on the damp Alum as a way to inhibit the growth of the bacteria that causes

Unless your traveling companion is very “Disney compatible” with you, doing Disney alone is the ONLY way to go. Been alone, with my wife (both back in the day), and several time with the wife and kids.

On the flip side of the coin, I had an Audi that slipped its timing belt, resulting in pistons meeting valves.

Despite all the arguing I see in the comment section, Emily’s right. If you have a complicated and/or strong prescription, get your glasses done at a proper optical shop. (best of both worlds: if your health insurance options at work offer a vision plan that pays for a pair of glasses each year, and said “proper

Yeah, I think “troll” is the word you’re looking for :)

Also the Promaster is not known to be very reliable and since it is a FIAT not every FCA dealer will work on them.

Yep. Two owners and 112K as “modest” ? For almost half of it’s brand new price as well ? CP all the way...

140K mi. + definite signs of “homemade” camper van conversion for $20K ? CP all the way. Maybe for half that. Maybe.

Anyone who feels like this should just admit they don’t really want kids (which is fine, but do everyone a favor and come to that realization).

I’m with Nicole, Vegas is fun for walking around gawking at over-the-top architecture, people watching, and dining out. The food scene has improved so much in the last 10-15 years (And it’s not all expensive: Tacos El Gordo has three locations there, incl. one on the Strip down towards the CircusCircus end. Wonderful

No need to sigh. Manual transmissions aren’t “all that.” They’re just something that a small percentage of drivers like. Enjoy one if you’d like, or don’t. Liking a manual doesn’t make you more (or less)“jalop” than someone else.

So Kotaku, who’s your favorite NPC in a game?

I have a few of these “Workstream” brown switch K/Bs from Monoprice and can confirm they’re quite decent. Use one all day, everyday at work. Good stuff.

The ramen thing isn’t that weird. The noodles are already cooked, then formed into a “brick” and deep fried (that gives them microscopic holes which helps with the “quick cooking” part). They actually taste like, well....oddly formed crackers. Our Boy Scouts used to eat them that way on camp-outs.
