Unless you’re absolutely sure you won’t get wet outdoors, cotton sweaters are not a good idea. They soak up water like a sponge and don’t dry quickly at all. You’ll just be wearing a cold, wet, heavy sweater...

Look at the Ford Transit conversions being done by Vandoit in Missouri.

So not the Archer C7 ? That’s good at least... (really like mine - solid, dependable wi-fi router)

A-f*cking-Men RE: “centrists”. Even the Bible warns us about these hand-wringing, do-nothings:

Kosher indeed. Didn’t John the Baptist subsist on “locusts and wild honey” ?

“Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.” —-Ronald Wright

Last time I had an Android phone (Motorola model a few years ago) it played DRM-free AAC files from my iTunes library just fine. Since Jan., 2009, the iTunes store has offered music with a DRM-free option and most tracks I have in my library are that way.

Same experiences here. Without exception, Canadian border patrol has been pleasant, polite, and reasonable. But their U.S. counterparts are usually absolute pricks. (and yes, I’m a U.S. citizen with a full passport, not even that little passport “card” thing)

I bet it was Birmingham, England. My experiences with peoples’ behavior in England (as contrasted with Scotland and Ireland) were uniformly bad in most regards. The general public is rude, I ran in to more outright bigots than I have in the American South, and officials like airport security personnel were even worse.

People who complain about something being “PC” are being intentionally obtuse in a poor attempt to appear somewhat socially correct. They’re actually just complaining about the mere existence of <whoever pushes their bigot button>

H.E.B. is the best general purpose grocery store in the country!

Oh good Lord, ^^THIS^^ so much! I’m from Texas, and realize that Mexican food is different not only all over Mexico, but all over the Southwestern U.S. as well. And I enjoy all of it that I’ve ever had the chance to try.

I have a pair of these and can confirm: they are quite decent (esp. at this price).

Heh, that’s my problem with them. I love corn nuts, but they don’t really love me... I still consume them, but carefully.

My real beef with AGMs is that, for sufficient “energy density” to run a std. RV A/C, you have to have so many of them that weight becomes a real factor (also, as I’m sure you know, AGMs can only be discharged to 50% w/o damaging them, while lithium batteries can go much lower - as well as weighing less).

For one, he seems much too cozy with drug mfgs. Last time I checked, Booker’s PAC had recv’d a grand total of $468,000 from drug makers, drug wholesalers, medical equipment makers, and dietary supplement companies. I question whether such a large amt of donations would influence his support for real health reforms.

2-4 big AGM batteries aren’t going to run any A/C for more than an hour or so. Those things are the biggest power hogs in an RV. Maybe 800+ amp/hrs of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries could run an efficient A/C six hours or so, depending on weather conditions.

Same here. I wish I actually liked his character. Still voting for Warren if I get the chance...

Stalin & the Soviets were an authoritarian regime that lightly cloaked itself in communism (in a “lipstick on a pig” fashion). If you want to see how well actual Democratic Socialism works, look at western Europe, esp. the Scandinavian countries like Denmark.
