it’s weird; halfway through, this article it becomes less about the movie being “fun” (i think it is? although i prefer shorter-lived fun) and more about the movie being “funny” (it is not)

yeah, I was about to say that. A BIG Deal about his 90s solo comic was he’s a movie star. It was very much, “Oh this film making is so fake, not like real super heroes!” That was enough to go for 29 issues.... not good ones, and even at the time DC comics was doing a better job with the same premise.

We saw Barbie in the theatre and again here at home a few weeks ago. We like it a lot. I’m surprised about Gerwig’s snub but not Robbie’s. Ferrara and Gosling (especailly) delivered performances that really got to your heart or showed a wide range.

Greta Lee is the only egregious acting snub. Leo did ok with a role that was totally wrong for him. 

We’ve known for a while now that Oppenheimer would be excluded from the visual effects category, but I’m once again here to say that that is dumb. It’s best visual effects, not best special effects. If they achieve most of the effects practically, it should still count.

And before that was Yes, Minister (and Yes, Prime Minister).

1: That’s not a MAX

Boeing's quality problems caused by its cheap ass management are overwhelming, but this particular incident doesn't seem to have anything to do with that. 

I said it before and I’ll say it again. The MAX is an unsafe aircraft and should be retired. That said, a crack on the windshield of an -800, a proven workhorse, does not make me worry. The production and maintenance should be checked to ensure safety, but this is not the same as the MAX debacle(s).

I love that this slide show complained that the someone should do more research about Ariana DeBose before making a joke of her not being able to sing, and then proceeded in the very next slide to refer to Keri Russel as Matthew Rhys’ “TV wife” and not his actual romantic partner of 9 years (and mother of his child).
