“Guys, I’m working on a Mario 64 mod, but don’t pay me for that, pay me monthly because you like me” is the most laughably transparent work around I’ve heard in a long time. A four year old would call bullshit on what you just said.

And its survived over a month?! It’s a Christmas Miracle! o:
Checked it earlier. Iirc, it’s all mods. Nintendo ones featured the most, this particular mod featured the *most.* So he was making cash on Nintendo’s game, hahah.
Maybe Kotaku should do a big article about how awesome and fun the game is. =D
Why is “making money” in quotes? If he had a Patreon open for the mod, thats *literally and exactly what he was doing.*
Phew. Thank God I have lifehacker to do my 6th grade math for me, otherwise I wouldn’t know *what* to do!
Bullshit. Getting a second monitor is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done for my productivity. Using virtual desktops doesn’t compare at all.
Still hard to find around here. Going to get a thousand times worse when Odyssey launches and Christmas is around the corner. Now’s the best time to find one, for sure.
Hot take: anybody who rooted for someone getting away with murder based on their skin color is trash.
I’m getting ready to show my little RPG to Nintendo soon. One of the things that excites me most about getting my game on the Switch is that my nephew will be able to legitimately say “my uncle works for Nintendo,” and have it be kind of true. :’D
This was a weird, but very interesting story. Thanks for the journalism, Cecilia! Stuff like this takes more effort than the “new game announced!” articles, but these kinds of articles are probably the main reason I check Kotaku so often. Thanks for the hard work! =)
Kamiko, Snake Pass, and Snipperclips are all great. Please buy them, everyone!
It’s....kind of good? He’s right though. A lot of these games seem like things that were made over a weekend. They’re interesting, but you guys are missing out on a lot of great looking games with years of work behind them. Maybe you could start doing different categories or something?
Well, there it is. If graphical fidelity is enough to keep a game from wowing you, we’re coming from completely galaxies here. I hope you’re wrong about the Switch’s future 3rd party support and that you get tons of use out of it. Happy gaming, hahah. =)
This. How anyone with any real taste in games can skip over Nintendo machines is a mystery to me. “But the graphics are a generation behind!” “Their online system has weird quirks!”
I don’t know why, but “MAXIMUM DEATH” just made me burst out laughing. +1 for you. :’)
Okay. So pretend the Switch is *only* a portable, then. If game A released on the PS4 as a “home” edition, and on the Switch as the “portable” edition, I’m assuming you wouldn’t touch the portable edition, right? So how is the situation different than any portable for you?
Besides DQ, those are some pretty weak examples, I think. They should have spent more time on DQ or cut the visuals back some more, yeah. No reason not to have a steady 30fps, at least. The other games aren’t quite as damning though, in my opinion. Even DQ is kind of silly, though - the game runs at 1080p while…
What games are you referring to, exactly? I haven’t heard anything about these “horrible performance” issues you’re bemoaning.
How is allowing players to dock their portable consoles to the TV a bad move? Oh yeah, I sure hate having the option to play my portable games on the TV. Totally lame playing Splatoon and Breath of the Wild on my big screen after a day of gaming on the go. Wish I didn’t have that option! Because I’m a real gamer, and…
