Why does everyone hate convertibles? I love convertibles.

HSV Maloo. It's a pick-up truck combined with a Muscle Car.

There are a lot of morons in this thread. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT THE FRICTION COEFFICIENT. Clearly cars that go faster have a higher friction coefficient than 1!

how to purchase the best 4-door sports car ever made

If I'm allowed to use an old Jalop article, I would recommend the 1981 Alpina C1. It had 170HP, is an E21, and can get 105.72 miles per imperial gallon. For its time, I think this is a very strong contender, especially since it still remained a gas-powered vehicle.

for now im gonna go with the elio. Im not calling it vaporware as they've got the funding and production will start next march. its suppose to be 84 mpg.

As lame as I think these are, when I was spending some time in Germany I remember reading that they were rated at around 85-90 MPG on the European cycle. Much Smart(er) than the gasoline models we have here, if you ask me.

Just off the top of my head, I would think it's a safety issue similar to the ground effect skirts on the late 70s F1 cars. They were great when they were working, but if the system passively deactivates at the wrong time you could lose all your downforce mid-corner and end up in the wall. Imagine if Toyota's

I don't even understand why non mechanically assisted movable aero is banned. It's ridiculous and inhibits technological progress. It's still a field we haven't even come close to fully exploring and yet it's banned in pretty much all forms of racing as if it was like an unlimited bottle of nitrous.
