Yes, on automatic climate controls it may set it to the lowest temperature however that just saves time from you hitting the recirculate button and dialing the temp down manually. Either way the compressor runs the same.

Yeah, I'm thinking that multiple settings tied to one button is less distracting even though redundant.
I'm with you, I can't stand automatic climate controls. I'm perfectly capable of choosing what I want on yet when you touch nearly any setting on my Miata the AC comes on by default.
Those options are usually selectable on other settings, pushing one button defaults to the optimal AC settings for recycling already cooled air.
Mmmm... Dessert only.
Not sure about this one but I remember seeing it on an AMC Javelin years ago and I was quite amused.
All it does is set the vent system to recirculate.
Every car needs the "desert only" setting but it's apparently just too dangerous when used anywhere else.
Wasn't Ford in a far worse position when they killed off Mercury than they are now? Even if they are barely keeping Lincoln relevant it seems that all of the development cost is already taken care of by other more successful Ford products. All that's left for Lincoln is to slap on some luxury features and market it.
Even now that I've heard it these are still entertaining.
They're all good! It kept me laughing all day.
Good one!
I'm sad that all your contributions on my ridiculous request didn't win conversation of the day, but I wanted to thank you all for giving me a good laugh.
I can't stop laughing at the contributions. This has made my day.
Yes, but can you spell that out for me in one word?
This has been the most fun I've ever had on Jalopnik. You guys are great.
You guys are freaking awesome. I'm laughing so hard over here.
I want those wheels. Are those 16 inch RPF1s?
Nice! I can hear it now!
Awesome, keep them coming.
