It makes no sense when they're supposedly running for their life.
It makes no sense when they're supposedly running for their life.
It gets even worse and this is probably the stupidest part. As the cars are headed toward a massive crowd of pedestrians the drivers drift through in an arc. Somehow the entire crowd of people all know to get out of the way in the perfect shape for their drifting cars to slide through.
The awful drift chase from Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Watching them intentionally drift around every car on the road instead of just cornering normally is beyond stupid.
They might keep the rain off you for maybe a second or so as you get in and out. I suppose not really.
There's a racing/driving school near me that uses these as their class cars. I used to think it was because they got a good deal from a local dealership but now I see it was an appropriate choice.
Yes, but that doesn't fall under the "beautiful but useless" features. Those are beautiful and practical.
What is this nonsense? I said gullwing!
True, I wasn't thinking about how most closed cockpit LMP cars use a similar structure. It seems Mercedes Benz was ahead of it's time in a few areas on that 300SL.
True, I imagine those high sills did make the car fairly stiff for the time. I have to wonder if that was stiffer than a full roof with braced pillars though. Wouldn't it have caught on with any other manufacturer?
Yeah, that is the coolest shift linkage ever.
There aren't a lot of drawbacks to the stainless steel body. They were thin and fairly easy to replace. Now DMC has guys who can reshape, weld and regrain panels to make them look brand new.
Yeah, I wonder if any owners found out the hard way not to park close to a curb and open them.
That is true. I believe the DeLorean clearance is actually about 12 inches. You can be quite close to a wall and still open it easily.
I'm a huge sucker for gullwing doors on anything.
I'll admit I'm actually a huge sucker for classy cars with a real analog clock in the dash. I may be in the minority being sad that it's gone.
No kidding. I had no idea it existed but it looks like an incredibly fun challenge. I'd be laughing like a madman all the way around.
Yeah, someone pointed out that the plates are different. Likely a base and a GT model.
That makes much more sense, thanks.
Am I imagining things or does it have low profile wheels and tires on the left side and five spoke smaller wheels on the right?
That's some pretty good stealth walking there, I almost didn't see them.
