Interesting. I just did some quick searching on paper cones and some really high end stuff still uses it and low end with polymer cones can still be terrible. It seems there are a lot of variables and not all paper is the same. Calling it paper may be misleading, it really depends on the application.

It's an interesting point to discuss. Technically I agree with you that parent company location would determine nationality of the car. I've always stated the car to be British since It's common knowledge that the factory was in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland without detailing how DeLorean Motor Company was founded

Ha! I spent way too long thinking about what the hell a "swade" was.

Most of the details audiophiles obsess over are lost on me. I'm sure it is probably due to my hearing but I can barely tell a difference. Some people may justify $25,000 or more for speakers but that is wasted money on my ears.

Made in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. For the purposes of this question and since the Ford Sierra is counted as an import, I think this qualifies.

I guess where the parent company is based is what makes the difference. Although considering that the lead in car for this question is not an import either. It was made by Ford.

I guess audio quality is subjective and depends so much on how and where it is installed.

Are paper cones really that bad? I was surprised to learn that a few high end speakers still use paper.

Yeah, I always imagined the interior has quite a bit to do with sound quality. My 2011 Miata has a Bose system but the tiny plastic cabin with little insulation makes it sound a little lame.

Good to know. I've had a couple cars with Bose systems and was happy enough. My Miata has one although the acoustics in that tiny cabin will make anything sound like crap. I have little experience with any other high end audio.

Don't forget Italian design!

Built in Northern Ireland with the backing of the British Government, who it also hurt quite a bit as well.

I hear a lot of hate on Bose systems, but in my uneducated opinion I've never heard anything wrong with them. Admittedly I don't obsess over audio quality so can anyone care to enlighten me as to what's wrong with them?

As much as I love it, the DeLorean is going to be high on this list. A high price and outmatched performance doomed the car. It is more appreciated now than in its time.

Fuel vapor needs air to burn and that is only present at the opening.

Holy crap! I never noticed that before. They were so hideous I never bothered to study them in detail. Good find!

Please, someone make a GIF of its pathetic little nosedive over that rock!

That is awesome. I'm glad you stuck with it and learned to love GT's methods. It's not perfect but I think they really build an attachment to the cars you use when you have to slowly build your way up while honing your skills.

Yeah, that was my point. I loved the short endurance races in GT when tire management and fuel came into play.

Wow, he has impeccable taste in cars.
