This is an old thread, but the minnesota wild....oh F**k it, it will just get me all worked up.

I understand the parents-hand-me-down audi/bmw/Benz. My boss gets a new audi every couple years, so naturally, his college age kids are driving a 2010 A6, and a 2013 A8. What’s takes the cake is that his kids complain about how ‘old’ their cars are (not that you do). But I get it.

Ah, well I drive it may - September and log a lot of highway miles for work. Around 10,000 in 5 months. Then it spends the winter being taken apart and getting newer/better parts.

If you hang out on the g8board, there are a few gt’s - usually with mods - that can go for around $12k. They will have north of 100k miles, but the LS motors are just breaking in at that point. I plan to run my g8 for 150k+ miles.

You won’t find a g8 with a manual in that range, only the gxp had a manual and they’re still $30k +. However, if you look hard, you could find a g8 gt (6.0 v8, fe2 suspension, 6l80 trans) with higher miles but will be reliable. I only have 50k on my g8, but there are guys on the g8board with well over 100k miles. I…

I own a 2009 g8 gt. Found it up here in MN with only 32k, bone stock and never been out I winter. A super clean g8 will cost you, but I smile every morning I start it up, and so does my son. It may have a few mods...
