People who record cops usually have an agenda and selectively edit the footage to the cop's disadvantage, or intentionally leaving out context, making running criminals and killers look like innocent pedestrians.

Cops risk their lives on a regular basis, the person they're dealing with doesn't. You'd just be one of several criminals they've dealt with that day and they're not going to sacrifice their lives for you.
