Slightly obscure for some, but Canada's Trailer Park Boys so eclipsed the initial film that most Canadians - and certainly the Americans that have even heard of it - barely realize there ever was a feature film.

Even better is that on the MASH commentary, Altman doesn't seem bemused by this fact - he seems legitimately pissed off. I think he even refers to his son as irresponsible.
