I think people “should” know that Ramadan involves fasting in order to be a considerate neighbour/coworker/friend to any Muslims they may encounter during this time. Relatedly, it’s probably also good to know when Ramadan falls in a given year (and more specifically, that it changes every year, and why).

Ah, that’s disappointing to hear. The cast is incredible, but I almost didn’t finish season 3 because I was so frustrated with the show’s refusal to make any meaningful steps forward with the plot. If season 4 is more of the same I may have to give it a pass.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioning the “Someone Like You” sketch from a few years back.

Thank goodness his uncle Ballpeen hasn’t abandoned him.

It’s definitely been a messaging issue throughout the pandemic, mainly due to Sweden presenting “herd immunity” as an alternative to lockdowns.

Adaptations can be tricky that way, it doesn’t take much for fans of the source material to turn on the adaptation.

You’re so nice/ you’re not good, you’re not bad, you’re just nice/ I’m not good, I’m not nice, I’m just right

This has been Dan’s position for a long time, hasn’t it? I don’t agree with him, but I knew what his answer would be when I read the question.

Yeah, people have been saying this about This Is Us, that they shouldn’t have incorporated the pandemic into this season.

William ran because he thought he was about to be arrested, right? And I don’t know that the paramedics/cops would have bothered to let anyone else in the building know that Laurel was still alive.

Interesting that the show doesn’t highlight John Parry’s betrayal of Lee when he finds Will the way the books do.

Ass-hatter

I’ve had pizza cheese stick to the paper towel, but it wasn’t exactly a surprise.

Dang, I was hoping there would be a picture at the link.

Yeah, I don’t know if I’ve ever heard the speaker’s voice more clearly than while reading this story.

I get the sense that if the LW could have sex, he would. Especially if he wants to be “somewhere between a sub and a slave”, being forced (consensually) into an uncomfortable situation seems like part of the appeal - which makes me think sex really is a total deal-breaker for him.

But Hargreaves is dead in the original timeline’s 2019 (as far as we know). I don’t doubt he could have faked his death, but it’s another indication that things are different now.
