I don't have a good answer for you, other than motorcycles and bicycles are treated differently.

"I would imagine the vast majority of bike riders do not carry an insurance policy for their bike."

Dealing with insurance always is, no matter what kind or style of vehicle is impacting another vehicle or object.

Cyclists call out reckless riders all the time. They give everyone a bad name. There are enough asshole/bad drivers out there, no reason to give them more reason to irrationally dislike cyclists.

It depends. Some cyclists do carry insurance policies, but given the level of asshattery these guys displayed, we can assume not.

Subaru may not be making cars as awesome as they used to, and I have a hard time telling the Outback/Tribecca/Forester apart from each other nowadays, but they certainly aren't making the most boring cars out there. My regular ol' Impreza is a perfect example of "slow car fast"-type fun, the Crosstrek is the new '04

Gggoooooaaaaaaaallll!!

Cars last longer, but their nav systems see support that is actually negative in years sometimes. Let's say you buy a 2011 Subaru with TomTom navigation package; you're actually getting a TomTom from 2007. Good luck getting it to do anything it claims to be able to do.

Hill Start has been very helpful to keep me from rolling into the people that creep forward at stoplights until they are literally inches away from my rear bumper. I don't think they realize that even some automatic transmissions roll backwards on hills.

Ultimate control still rests with the driver. ABS gives you a greater advantage when emergency braking at high speeds. At low speed, you have more time to react and handle the situation safely.

I'm more impressed by the people that have two donuts. Where do they get the second one from if they can't afford the first? Are they borrowing from a friend? For five months?

I'm a cyclist, and often as I'm riding through traffic I'll notice cars in dangerous states of repair. On multiple occasions, I've pointed flat tires to people and told them they needed to get air immediately. The response is usually, "Oh, okay, I'll do that when I have time."

My Dad refused to let me buy an car without airbags or ABS. He's a surgeon that used to take trauma call and still takes E.R. call. He told me that there's a world of difference between the people that come in who were riding in cars with airbags and cars without. Yes, there are stories of people being killed by

Reminds me of the time I freaked my girlfriend's parents out by "driving on the wrong side of the road". They didn't realize it was a one-way road.

Ones with stance, chrome, and bling. Or all three.

I nominate for an honorable mention, Pabst Blue Ribbon airport.

A friend of mine bought a Chevy Aveo, base model. Didn't even have power windows. It was cheap transportation for six years, never broke down, and was easy on gas.

I heard many horror stories of driving schools from my friends. Bad PowerPoints, teacher showing up drunk, etc. You bet I took it on-line! (This was before there were so many websites that let you review businesses, however... amazing how quickly things change.)
