Yes! Saw them a bunch of years ago and they were awesome. Kicking Television is a great representation of this.

Yeah i guess it would have been better to have seen Mick Jones up there instead of Vince White, but the Fox was an amazing venue , especially at 17 years old, like two meters away from Joe Strummer, with a crowd that was all super into the show (no Eddie Money fans there…..that we knew of).

I'm listening to a live version on youtube just now (with french subtitles) which sounds pretty good, but honestly, other than the addition of a nifty guitar solo, doesnt sound a whole lot different. Is there another version? Now watching one in Tokyo (which contains some inspired yelping)..fuck youtube can be

desert island pick for sure.

I saw them the year before at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and even without Mick Jones they were amazing. They opened with a mohawked Strummer jumping around to London Calling. Other than some other mohawked guy crawling on the walls, I don't really remember much more about the show. Except that I really liked it,

My favourite song off that album is White Man in Hamersmith Palais. Clever, funny lyrics, great guitar and soaring backup vocals from M Jones show an ear for melody.

Sincere. It just grabbed me as a good opening sentence.

Nice but why not the whole check? A bit strange….

Swim tuesday and thursday morning with masters group and coach. its brutal but always feel great for the rest of the day. This morning's set: 500 kick with snorkel and fins; 500 fins single arm drills; 500 paddles snorkle no fins; then 12 100s descending every 3 with 30 second rest after each 3. Warmdown…followed by

Its a great song that brings back many memories of high school.

Thats a good piece of writing. Great opening paragraph:

….to satisfy that woman….

Agree. In Cool Hand Luke you cannot take your eyes off him. A real mensch in real life as well, what with the salad dressings, etc

Much as I look fondly back upon the days of vinyl albums and cassettes, the whole mystery surrounding unknown performers (who is this band?!—no internet to check), I sure do appreciate the convenience of having all that stuff available at the click of a button on one device. Its serious fun to have a few drinks and

It was a different time

Big time

Canadians swear all the fucking time. Like Norm McDonald.

Plus REM IRS years. Back in Black (just) and Appetite for Destruction (also just). Lots of great Jam albums. some decent Springsteen and Dire Straits. At least one good Echo and the Bunnyman album, some decent stuff by the Cure, B52s and Elvis Costello, not to mention Joe Jackson and solo Pete Townshend.

You're not wrong, but Staying Alive has two things going for it that Starship does not have. 1. a great beat, based on a drum loop, that never changes throughout the whole song; 2. the yelping, bleating, shrieking vocals are fucking hilarious!

Its like the first time you buy a new shower curtain….
