But the thing is, if you had a problem with either situation, you could just buy the disc copy, and it's yours forever, regardless of if the online service was shut down or you couldn't pay for it. The deal was just Sony trying to increase incentive for PS+, and it really isn't a bad one if you ask me.

Yes, but those games are made to be fun. Art games on the other hand aren't necessarily meant to be fun, they just happen to be (sometimes). Art games are supposed to be taken for their artistic merit (visuals, style, story, music, etc.) over the fun.
