“You mean Mrs. Samira Wiley?”

Let me repeat what I said on twitter earlier today:

There was this one part in an episode that was so brief that if you blinked you would have missed it. Anyway, it was a scene where Abby and Olivia were walking up to the house of a man who had committed a murder or something. They are greeted by the man and his wife. By mistake (instinct) the man reaches out to shake

The casting bit is really crazy to me. How do you as a casting director get a script read a script see that the lead is a black woman, but then go back to the creator and say “But these white women tho.”

It’s slap-sticky and cringe-y, but Coel is so charming and endearing that it doesn’t bother me in the way a lesser show would. The supporting cast is fantastic too, especially her family.

Tracey has the kind of has the wide-eyed innocence of Kimmy Schmidt. The show definitely has a goofiness/outrageousness factor that Insecure doesn’t have. I love both shows equally!

I keep seeing this advertised and always make mental notes to watch it - to the internet!

I say better, but I do like both shows.

I don’t know if I would say better. I love these two shows equally. They’re different way of viewing the world by different main characters. Issa isn’t nearly as outrageous as Tracey. I adore Tracey’s confidence. It’s what makes the whole show and the jokes work.

I started it on Sunday. 3 eps in and I’m in love.

Now playing

He also hosted the 2016 Radio and Television Correspondents’ Dinner which was probably a good audition/rehearsal for the WHCD gig.

What the actual fuck? I... ugh. Full disclosure: My parents are an interracial, multinational couple - been together for like 5000 years. It’s not wrong to want see those relationships represented but there are thousands of stories that are historically accurate you can use. Why the hell does he think it’s acceptable

His wife may well be an activist and her story probably deserves to be told, but then he should be telling a different story about a different time with a different protagonist. What you don’t do is tell a story based on the past then change up shit by erasing the people who were actually involved in order to make a

This is incredibly tragic. The fact that he knowingly chose to erase Black women in favor of, yes, a lighter-skinned woman of color just goes to prove that racism is so ingrained in all of us, POC included. Seriously? That sends a very clear message that Black women aren’t important, even in their own histories. And

“There is no government agency more dedicated to the proposition that black lives matter than the police.”

I realize the two are not equivalent, but they are related.

Hi Apple! I’m Orange. Nice to meet you.

Yes, we will ignore it. She threatened to destroy his life, drag his reputation through the mud, drop a cloud of suspicion over him that would follow him forever. She wants to cost him time, money, opportunity, friends, family, and a future.

And he used some bad words. His cool slipped and out pops some naughty

You’re doing the same thing as when a republican remarks on the intolerant left. We are cussing this lady out because the did something cussworthy...Not “just because she is a woman”.

Someone cross-post this to Jezebel where they seem to believe that women never, ever, ever do this.
