She probably could have made more as a tattoo artist with the time spent in court proceedings. 

She was suing for 20M dollars, but the jury found out that the game’s profit could not be attributed to the tattoo itself -- hence the low figure.

Except they aren’t? Koei Tecmo is making it. EA is publishing it and helping them out. 

Then don’t watch it.  But plenty of people are able to read a book and also enjoy a filmed adaptation of the story, or adapted as a stage play, or adapted as a comic.  Shouldn’t be that hard of a concept for someone to get.

Not sure why people are dunking on Dunkey here. Worst case, some junk-ass video game gets funded. Best case, an up and coming indie dev breaks through and everyone wins. The fact is, Dunkey is using his money to try and enrich the gaming industry. Mad props from me.

You made a point that he shouldn’t expect ‘to take his own slice’, I took that to mean he should just give money like a charity. Unless Dunkey is just filthy rich, that’s not sustainable and he needs to make that money back somehow.

Capital alone would be a good way to help people make games.

Everybody is down here dissing on Dunkey, but for my money, if there’s a YouTuber out there who can pull this off, it’s him. I see criticism regarding how this announcement comes off as self-important or conceited, but that’s just a part of his schtick. In reality he’s quite level headed and obviously cares very much…

The fuck does this have to do with anyone’s ego?  If I had a few million in the bank, I’d also probably want to get into funding cool projects.  If you watch his more serious review videos, it’s obvious he’s got a keen critical eye, and obviously has a ton of experience figuring out what makes games fun, so this seems…

...that reads as inflated ego? He thinks he can help, he’s trying to help. Helping. If it crashes and burns at least he’d have done more than any of us have ever done.
