It just really sucks when you finally get some free time, and you can’t even do any cafe (single player) progression because of an extended maintenance. That makes no sense to me at all.

So they have 4K grass, but what about the other aspects of their game? There’s a technical reason why developers don’t put so many resources into just foliage.
I have no issues with the economy, and I’m fine buying only the cars that I actually like. You don’t need to collect all cars for credit towards a platinum trophy.
I just wanted to knock out some single player cafe progress during my free time. I don’t understand how any body at Sony thought this was a good idea.
True.
“But maybe it’s actually a bad thing for private companies to be incentivized by armed conflict.”
I’m not surprised by the lack of research in this article. Seems like easy click bait for the author.
I’ve never understood why companies are so hesitant to implement crossplay for their multiplayer games. Certain genres like sports and fighting games tend to have lower populations on PC compared to the consoles. It really sucks when the online player base dies out on a platform.
I use to play Hawken years ago. I think that game was the right balance of FPS and mech gameplay.
The characters felt generic, and they were mostly forgettable for me, especially in the first game. There’s other games where the characters just stick with you.
You hit the nail on the head.
Guerrilla Games have always made great looking, polished games, but their story writing seems to be their weakness. I enjoyed the Killzone and Horizon games, but I’ve never truly liked their characters, and their stories have been average at best.
It’s kinda ridiculous the F1 games still don’t have VR support.
I wish it was less MMO, and more Diablo/PoE like. I want to kill tons of mobs, not do MMO style quests.
Yea, BF4 is my favorite.
Ditto.
My group of friends are loyal BF players, and we all planned to play BF2042. Then we ending up binging two weeks on Halo Infinite, and we totally forgot about BF2042.
Players saw the potential issues with the game months before the release, and they still decided to release the game in that state. It doesn’t take a college degree or million dollar salary to see that one coming.
I still play BF4 and BF1 when I need my Battlefield fix. BF1 is still an amazing and immersive experience that I haven’t felt the need to even bother buying BF2042. I played the beta and the trial on EA play and it was really disappointing.
This is a good take.
