Yeah, but without a good writer, you would’ve ended up with Leonard Nimoy’s Ballad of Bilbo Baggins. The original material matters.

Maybe i was giving Bulma to much credit.
The scanner says that his shame levels are OVER 9,000!!!!!

...they overpromised, overscoped, and blew their budget too quickly.
You show me all the best things, Brian.
we can kickstart it, we have the technology.
How amazing would that story be?! I’d watch a movie about the inception, cancelation, revival, and completion of this random ass neo-geo game
I’m thinking the guy behind this, with resources and help provided by Adult Swim, could just make a copycat version with animal-people in space. The Star Fox connection, to me, is only a small reason why I enjoyed the video.
Yeah, obviously it would require Nintendo to get on board legally, but it’d do a lot to restore their reputation with the over-10-years-old crowd.

FFVII came out when I was 17, and being a teenager who lived a stone’s throw away from NYC, my adventures would often find me there at a time when the city was a bit seedier, a bit grittier, and still actually full of hidden fun and mischief to get into. I remember how much I loved comparing the weirdness of LES…
Son of a cherry blossom.
I liked wondering either way :). There was something really well done about that ending that regardless you could find something amazing about it, but being shoehorned into just one possibility eh...
I never understood why Cloud was so angsty and emo in Kingdom Hearts and the Dissidia games, but it makes sense in Advent Children. In Advent Children, he’s slowly dying from a mysterious incurable disease. If there was ever a reason to be mopey, that would be it. For some reason, they really ran with that personality…
The big issue with Advent Children is that without any prior knowledge of the source material the audience is left out in the cold because they don’t know what the Hell is going on at all. They don’t get the references, they don’t understand the characters emotional struggles and they don’t understand the villains…
Honestly the movie kind of ruined the ending of the Game for me. Part of what I loved about Final Fantasy VII was the ending kind of left itself for interpretation, did Holy wipe out mankind to save the planet? Did mankind abandon the Life Stream hungry life style and return to living with nature as the Centra did?…
Reading this line “I am a massive fan of Final Fantasy VII, but as a programmer for the festival, I don’t let my personal appreciations affect my judgement in recruiting/reviewing films,”and then this “...I wanted to convince myself that I wasn’t being objective, but I couldn’t escape the fact that this film is DAMN…
Hot Take Corner:
Same with me. The movie is mostly about a villain wanting his mom and fight scenes where the characters jump 50 ft up in the air. The whole bad guy becoming into Sephiroth makes no sense other than to briefly revive an overrated villain for fanservice.
