I don't think that you will need $5000 in 5-10 years to replace the battery pack in a diesel though. Not many people realize that the batteries will run out, just like in your laptop, except this battery is quite more expensive.

Jack stands are great and I've used them a ton. But, since my dad has retired and built himself a garage with a service lift I could never go back to using jack stands. Having the ability to lift the car up so you can stand underneath is fantastic.
