Feel free to PM me (now or any time) if you ever want to talk about it! Hugs.

@all: Thanks for all the kind comments. I do think one good thing about a terrible situation like Penn State coming to light is that it sheds light on a lot of other situations, too, and emboldens more people to speak up.

It was a long weepy telephone conversation at work! (After hours.) It was so awful and awkward that part of me was just cringing at the whole thing. But it was so good that we had it out!

He was not the most guilty, but he was guilty. No doubt he did make a positive change in many kids' lives, but that's not much consolation to the victims of child rape.

Paterno has wound up being symbolic for me. I never would have talked to my parents about getting raped as a child had it not been for the Penn State child rape scandal, and having that talk made things so much better for me and for our relationship. I thought my parents had neglected to protect me or stand up for

Exactly. I'm the opposite. I consider myself a Christian, because that's my heritage and because I believe in Jesus, but I don't see why that obligates me to believe all the shit his followers said.

Sure. But I've seen hundreds of calls for boycotts, and none of them have included any such distinctions. And I said, a boycott is least likely to harm the individuals who are most responsible, and most likely to hurt people in lower-level jobs who had nothing to do with this, which is the last thing our economy

The upper-level execs who helped write it have multiple streams of personal income. A short-term boycott won't affect them. They'll just fire some lower-level employees if their profits get dinged for that quarter. Also, several companies opposed SOPA and PIPA. Should they be boycotted?

Yes, let's do something that won't really hurt lobbyists or politicians but will harm the economy and endanger more ordinary jobs.

Wasn't red dye #3 banned like 30 or 40 years ago? That's really reaching for dire things to say.

I don't watch this show, but I really liked the not-Paul-Rudd guy in this clip, even though he hardly said anything. So I looked it up on youtube and the first thing I found was that character waxing poetic about Game of Thrones. So cute! I should maybe watch this...even though usually I just watch stuff like Game of

I love your style!

Oh man. Do it!

Hearted! We elegant ladies, I mean morons, need to stick together!

And now you are! :) Hearted!

Stop stealing my look, bitch.

I feel like my best when it seems like my wardrobe matches my personality. I'm creative, sentimental, idealistic, not very hip, not conformist, and prone to daydreaming. When I wear floor-length skirts, lace frocks, quasi-Victorian jackets, and the like, it conveys that pretty well, I think. Nobody gets confused about

Is that you? Gorgeous!

Oh my God. You look amazing.

I sort of dress like this.
