Oh oh oh. I am so sorry.
Oh oh oh. I am so sorry.
AH! Great story! Rose Brooks Center is a great group! They are in my hometown! I'm making quilts for women and kids there for Christmas presents for next Christmas! I didn't know about their gala! Kennels for dogs! AHHH! That is great!
Awww. This sounds like a very, very nice guy, who maybe needs a little help.
I love you all.
He concluded that the reason that women hadn't advance further up the ladder was that God didn't want the ladder to extend upward into churches and the Government.
Eh, maybe, but I don't think cooks on TV are a very big contributor. Not that I've conducted a study or anything :) I suspect restaurant chains and prepackaged foods go a lot further toward normalizing unhealthy food (and I don't think fried cheesecake is normal anywhere...is it?)
I suspected there would be some correlation between this map and a map showing poverty, and look, there kind of is.
Great and thoughtful post. (I know you said it was a rant, but it was really too reasonable for a rant. :) )
I think these are two very different things, because the ideas that only superskinny women are attractive, and that looking flawless is possible and anything less is unacceptable, are both quite pervasive. Almost no one, on the other hand, thinks it's healthy to eat deep-fried cheesecake or whatever.
That was SO well done! Congrats!
Isn't it about time?! Actually, I believe it's the early 90s. Which works great for me. I liked the early 90s!
I love Laura Ashley. I'm always scouting out old dresses on ebay and etsy!
I have one piece of advice: if you are, say, 10 minutes late to a meeting, don't apologize again for being late at the end of the meeting. Many people have forgotten about it by then and you don't need to remind them.
Agreed. I hate all those beigy-blushy-champagne-y blah dresses. Hate them. The color only looks good on Mary J. Blige, because it flatters her skin tone instead of just blending with it. But I'm a big fan of wearing brights at night to a fun event. The yellow and bright green ones make me smile.
@all: There is a groupthinkers group on Linkedin. PM me your real/Linkedin name and I will invite you to join!
Ooh, congrats! Is the cover art showing up yet? Or are you getting the annoying Image Not Available?
"phones and files for foresters" is a pretty fun tongue twister.
Awww! I'll have to tell the Tree of Life team about this. :)
Oh yeah, that is a little weird, but I didn't use it all that often. I lug my laptop around everywhere, and it's much lighter than the MacBook, so for me that out-weighed (ha) losing the disc drive.
The Macbook Air is nice though...except don't trip up the stairs while carrying it so that it jams into your upper lip when you fall on it. It is sharp. It's a wonder I still have my front teeth!
