As a regular visitor to Jalopnik, can’t tell you how shocked I was to see the Two Man Gentleman Band here. Andy Bean is my nephew. Boy did they put on some amazing shows. Miss them.

Shrimp eat zooplankton. It’s not like they are chowing down on cheeseburgers. Who cares?

Let’s change the wording a little: “I know you conservative types living your buffered little lives between your Cracker Barrel runs and your Mountain Dews don’t want to deal with this, because you’re going to still be excited if a couple of gays get dragged behind trucks or several thousand families are torn apart at

Forgive me if you’ve seen it.

I love the books, but my impression is definitely colored by my first encounter with them. If you read something that blows your mind when you are 12 or 13, it kind of penetrates your soul. Still read them every 5 years or so.

Couldn’t disagree more, especially with Shaughnessy as your backup. Sox have an emerging slugger in Rafael Devers who still isn’t old enough to drink, Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi, all of whom are likely to put on a show in the outfield every night.... lots of young energy and tremendously

I’m partial to Jersey. I think it’s jaunty looking.

Wrong.

Look, I’m a white dude who would also like to see her ass get beat. Do all white people have to be considered asshole racists? I know plenty who aren’t, and yes, many who are. But the fucking “those people” argument is bad no matter who uses it.

Don’t forget that weeks before Sandy he was on stage with Mitt Romney calling for the dismantling of the Federal Government and FEMA, and then post-hurricane wanted to know where the Federal money was.

Wrong on every count. Stay in Herkimer, jerkimer.

yes re. the cursor. Extremely annoying.

YESSSSSS

.“I think it’s a morbid fascination with what black people know is inside themselves to some degree, not just a question about family or acquaintances.”

I grew up in the suburbs of NJ and then raised my sons in NYC. My childhood was fantastic, but I think there were some important factors involved. For one thing, not every patch of woods in NJ had been paved over for a new development or a mini mall, so we spent a lot of time hunting for frogs and snakes and turtles

I knew David Cross briefly many years ago in Boston. I still have bad memories of being at parties where he and his comedian friends would basically make anybody they were talking to the straight man for their stupid ad lib comedy. They came across as dicks. Some things never change, I guess.

Agree 100%. I’m 54. Both of my boys in college. Still play basketball, hang with my dog, sex with the wife anytime and anywhere, out to eat in NYC whenever we feel like it, retirement looming a little larger. Drive to the beach and fish after work when I feel like it. Less anxiety about work, because by the time

Hating on Jersey is stupid. Yes, the northern stretch of the Turnpike is overwhelming, but the state is pretty amazing. I live in Manhattan and drive 1 hour to fish for striped bass at Sandy Hook, where you can see the NYC skyline AND watch see deer, fox, seals etc. Some of the countryside in the state is stunning,

Making fun of Jersey below you.
