It’s a good question. I think we’ve crossed a line and can’t ever go back to the Bowie and Manson era. It’s funny, because in a way the message has become about removing boundaries and categorizations of people, but at the same time I think Manson, being a heterosexual and dressing the way he did, would be perceived…

There were people protesting the Peanuts movie cause they said that Joe Cool was “ogling a girl’s ass”. A cartoon dog, whose dogs are drawn as just 2 little black dots, was allegedly pointing said black dots at the ass of a cartoon little girl.

Fuckin’ agreed. I hate The Big Bang Theory as much as the next person, but I got sooooo sick of everyone calling it “nerd blackface.”

ironically, Ben Stiller already made a movie featuring blackface that everyone loves. Tropic Thunder is a classic.

Chris Lilley having multiple television series where he performed in blackface and brownface is proof of this.

If they wanted to make fun of flamboyant, homosexual fashion designers, why didn’t they just ask a real flamboyant, homosexual designer like John Galliano to play Mugatu?

Really don’t like the comparison to blackface, especially calling this the “modern” equivalent. Um, blackface is not a thing of the past. It's still very much a problem.
