He doesn’t seem to have done anything wrong per se by applying pretty standard rules, but man oh man could the employees at this school really use a training on how to actually listen to people and think outside the conventional approach to avoid…

I totally agree. He was dismissive and an asshole. He doesn't need to leave his position to redeem himself.

I read about this earlier. Many, many students were emailing him. At first, his replies were pretty blasé like the one in the article. Later, he started offering to do make up exams. Even later, he just was like, “Fuck it I quit.”

Agreed. This part always makes me cry with laughter. If they have even one moment as funny as this, the entire movie is worth it.
