The one I'm thinking of is from Nestle and is black and green. https://www.nestle-baby.ca/en/register/index.htm?WT.mc_id=NB-PFX-NBP-KW-EN-LNK005&gclid=CPW4xYK_5rUCFYdT4AodB0kAWA

I'm planning on using the free formula bag they're going to send me in the mail as the "dad bag." It will have just the base necessities and be for ManDork on the rare occasions he takes MicroDork somewhere and I'm not there with my bag.

I'm with ya there.

There's a house in my neighborhood that has a screened in cat climber thing with a kitty door leading into the house. It's pretty awesome. It's been snowy and cold, but on a warm day last week I saw a cat in it. The cat looked very happy.

I think I got $1 for each, back in the nineties. That's what I plan on giving MiniDork also.

I really don't understand how criticism is inappropriate on a site network that likes to dish out it's fare share of snark, and ridicule.

Damn. I just read on Gawker; he died. :(

I would imagine so. I wonder how the baby is doing, as, despite what the article says, she was not on her way to deliver, but simply going to an appt. and the baby is premature. At least, that's the word in the comments section. If so, baby will have some health struggles to overcome as well. :(

To be fair, I understand the feeling that young death is more tragic, as the younger the person, the less of life they got to live. That I feel it too disturbs me for some reason (probably because, no matter how logical or not - it still feels distasteful to feel more remorse over one death than another).

Yup. I think you (and the others who have said basically the same thing) are probably right. But with the number of people who also read it the way I did, I think the ambiguity is worth complaining about, at least on a site like Jezebel. I know it's not NPR or anything...but the writing standard should be a little

Yeah, you and a few others have pointed that out. I like to think you're right, and that was the intention. Unfortunately a few others have chimed in with the same interpretation I originally had, so I do wish that sentence had been worded differently.

I guess the change has happened so broadly, and over such a (relatively) short number of years that perhaps it's becoming really odd in most people's eyes? And I imagine on a site like Jez, this audience is more likely to belong to social circles with people opting for later parenthood since it seems younger

I think PollyannaCowgirl2.0 is dead on, and that's it's a cultural thing. To me, 21 is on the young end of parenthood, but not extreme. To somebody else, I guess it does seem extremely young.

You're right that it probably is a bit pedantic. But I think precision in writing on any news site, even one like Jezebel, is pretty important. Based on the number of people who have replied to my comment saying it read that way to them as well, there is clearly room for a clearer sentence.

Borrow it as often as you'd like. :)

My heart is positively broken that you think I'm an asshat. I may never recover.

The headline is really oddly worded as well. I had to read it twice, and still wasn't sure exactly what it was saying until I clicked through and read the article.

Speaking of writing...does Jezebel not have their writers use the Oxford comma?

lol-ing at "argue with people on Jezebel more"

"A pair of extremely young expectant parents"
