1991 E34 with a 3.5L and a Getrag 5-speed for $1,800?

All the parts should be available, the M30 motor is dead simple to work on and almost indestructible (it was used from 1968-1992 - longer than any other BMW motor), the Getrag and differential are also just about bullet-proof, the electronics are slightly more

Why is it always the AlpineWeiss 4-door E36 M3s that have to suffer this sort of indignity while there are tons of stanced red E36 325iS-es slathered in M3 badges that just won’t die?

Oh god, I totally lived this with an E30. I had a beautiful 1991 E30 318iS in Diamantschwartz with a black & grey plaid interior. It had coil-on-plug ignition, factory 4.10 LSD, Jim Conforti chip, an E36 3.25-turns lock-to-lock steering rack, 15" Japanese (!) basket-weaves, a non-airbag (Canada car) MTech steering

It’s a slippery slope from ‘willy-nilly’ to ‘higgledy-piggledy’ - next thing you know it’s anarchy!

Little, tiny bloggers?

No Olympia?  WTF?

Manual transmission and hydraulic steering. RWD is optional.

(unless it is an EV, in which case I just don’t want touchscreen-everything)

Clearly the buyer forgot to tick the option box for the M20 recoilless rifle...

I’m rather fond of ‘whack-a-doodle’ personally.

My wife and I have books we’ve collected over our 45+ years as readers, I may have not read all of her books, and certainly she has not read all of my books, but they are still books that mean something to either (or both) of us.

Any books we don’t like get donated to the library.

1000 words.

As I stated in the VW Electric Car Platform article thread, would it kill VW to come out with the first mass-produced electric plug-in station wagon? It’s a niche begging to be filled.

(it’s even rear-wheel drive - if they offered it in brown, it would be the Jalopnik electric car spirit animal)

Would it kill them to have a station wagon? Yeah, the e-Bus is cute and all, but a nice electric SportWagon replacement with rear-wheel drive would really float my boat (and allow me to get rid of my Mk7 TDI finally).

Maybe, just maybe, the DNC didn’t throw all their support Bernie because he very specifically (and frequently) does not identify as a member of the Democratic Party. Biting the hand that potentially feeds you isn’t really a good strategy.

“...with only one hand on the wheel, it’s hard.”

Three rights make a left.

I hear this posted all the time, yet people can’t point out breaks O&G get that is unique to O&G and only O&G.

There’s a reason I had a piece of plastic over my battery in my old ‘71 Squareback.

Would it kill VW to release a vehicle in this series with (a) this sort of range and (b) in a Mk7 Sportwagon form-factor? I’d love to replace my 2015 Golf Sportwagon TDI with a genuine 300+ mile-range electric equivalent (including usable interior / cargo space).  I need something to haul my family and my dogs.
