I would have thought it would be sold as a horizontally-opposed six-pack.

The one Monica inherited was a mid-80s 911 SC Targa.

...glorious Kalashnikov...and...AR knockoffs.

I’m struck by how much the Cosworth cockpit is trying to be like the E30 cockpit (still, one of the ergonomically-best driver’s-focused cockpits ever engineered), but falling quite a bit short. I think I’m going to have to change my answer to the (ever-predictable) E30 M3 Sport-Evo.

(although if I could get my hands on

Why yes...yes it did.

Other than some vestigial thumb-lumps, the E82 / E92 sport (not M-sport) wheel is pretty close to optimal, too:

There is something oddly appealing about a Merc with a manual.

I would probably go for the E30 because I’m an unabashed BMW whore, but gawd, that Sierra Cosworth is pure sex on wheels.  Don’t make me chooooose!

It’s just crying out for a Meyers Manx body kit.

Maybe for the 135i vs 240i it is an upgrade, but the 228i is a step backwards compared to the 128i.

Maybe potential BMW customers aren’t interested in plowing into pedestrians at Cars & Coffee?

You have done well.

Well, best when not compared to a 1-series. ;)

Is there no 3-pedal option in the M240i?  If so, that’s really disappointing.

Yeah. Maybe because it’s a tacky shitbox? I don’t care how historically important it might be (“Own the plane that flew Fat Elvis and his barbituates around the country!”) - it clearly hit every branch of the ugly 70's decor tree on the way to the ground.

Burn!

(both the comment, and what happens if you hit the non-insulated ends of the heater box when the engine has been running...because exhaust headers)

Counterpoint - the only time I’ve had someone back out of a parking space and hit me as I was driving past was when they were exclusively using a backup camera.

That being said, if you use both it is probably best of all. But you can totally get by without one. A good stereo on the other hand...

You don’t need a backup camera. You have windows and mirrors...USE THEM.

Type III as well.

You and me both. My dad taught me to drive up around Mt. Hood (there were a couple of decent roads that were closed when the new Hwy 26 was built over the pass) in a VW Type III when I was 12. By the time I got my permit, I had a almost 3 years of practice under my belt, which helped me pass my drivers test on my 16th
