Maybe it's different because A&W in Canada is not affiliated or franchised by the American company, but they do really good burgers in my opinion. The beef actually tastes like beef as opposed to tasting like nothing (like McDonald's burgers) and the onion rings are easily the most underrated fast food side ever.
Harvey's onion rings are limp, greasy garbage compared to the crunchy breaded deliciousness of A&W onion rings. It's all in the breading and spices. I've never had crispy Harvey's onion rings, but every onion ring order I get from A&W is flawless, unless they're just about to close. Their burgers are also top tier,…
Sorry, AV club, but A&W Onion Rings are superior to everything on this list. At the very least worth a mention in the top 5.
I could stand cutting a few shows off the roster, but cutting more than 40 of them and axing classic TV club is really shitty, univision.
I guess Bond has just been on a downhill slope since Brosnan took the role (Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies are probably my favorites though) and had a bit of a resurgence with Craig during Casino Royale. I don't know if you can count 2/4 movies being good as a measure of the franchise still being successful. QoS…
I know a few people who were really jazzed about ID4 Resurgence. I think after 20 years it stops being a sure thing and starts being a practice of pure nostalgia. Sure, Independence Day is frequently on TV, but the biggest thing the movie did to the cultural zeitgeist was to make destruction porn a staple for the…
I mean, really, though, a lot of people predicted it would be garbage, which was not predicated on it having a female cast. The trailer looked really bad, the CGI looked worse than the 82 film and Leslie Jones (who is arguably the best part of the movie) was cut to look like a generic crazy minority. There were a lot…
A lot of us in North America read Dahl's books growing up, I have fond memories of reading the BFG in my second grade class. Maybe it is a cultural thing and Canadians are closer to the Brits in general, who knows.
"Punch the keys for God's sake!"
I don't know how much of a blessing Bill Murray really gave. Sony basically threatened him with "aggressive litigation" if he didn't do media appearances or have that cameo role. Ernie Hudson didn't even think the film would be a success and he had to roll back what he said about the fans probably not wanting an…
That context doesn't make it any less childish or rhetorically inert. What did we get out of the "Make Donald Drumpf Again" campaign? A few browser addons that change the instances of Donald Trump to Donald Drumpf and/or "a man with little fingers"? Was that really it? Certainly somebody like John Oliver, who did…
All the Drumpf stuff was just stupid and childish. Of all the things Oliver and his writing staff could have criticized, they pick his immigrant last name? Trump is a fucking goldmine of saying insane shit to rile up his supporters. He couldn't pick a solid quote to start railing on him with? No, he went with his…
They do lots of stuff with her in Star Trek: Online, but the writing for that game is so garbage, I don't know why CBS still permits it to exist. In that timeline, Sela becomes Empress of a faction of Romulans and leads an insurrection against the Federation and the Klingons. There's also another faction of peaceful…
It also looked like they had a really fun time filming those episodes. They're probably my favorite set of episodes from Enterprise after the Augment arc and the genetically modified Klingon stuff.
This is true enough. If it gets lower than 75, it's got to be spectacularly bad, which is really hard to pull off in the current gaming market. What even is spectacularly bad these days? A commercial flop like Battleborn? Early Access indie games that never make it past beta? For gaming, it's hard to define.
Tropico is still fun without cheats if you keep it on an easy difficulty, which might as well be cheating.
I haven't seen anything official. Most of these were garnered from writers saying "this is my last review of X, it's been a good run" sort of things at the end of whatever respective review was listed.
I'm more tired of FYC and GJI than anything. GJI is just reddit on a delay.
It's too bad they pretty much cut TV club classic reviews.
