That would have been the one thing to make that epic scene better. Not saying id did not like the leads or something but if vader directly killed them it would be more of an intense scene.

The better question is do they allow their employees to work from home and eat lunch any where or at any time they want. I understand that not every job offers this, but after working from home for the better part of 4 years, going back to work in an office gives me anxiety.

The fact there are shots showing Jyn physically holding the plans back on the beaches makes me think, hey, maybe at least some of these guys made it off the planet and physically handed the plans to the rebels.
