No one cares about your Gifted and Talented program.
This thread was the worst not-so-humble brag I’ve ever seen.

I know you’ve got a million responses to this already but I’m throwing in my anecdote:
You’re kidding, right? I mean, if you personally teach them, you can certainly get a head start on school, but what level of proficiency are you expecting here?
He can read his name and shit.
(Of course my save game has all these things, but he is never going to get his hands on my gear stash)
I don’t get it. What exactly do you hate? That they don’t have a fuller vocabulary? That they haven’t figured out how to synthesize ideas? That they don’t always understand how cause and effect work? That they have an incomplete understanding of the world?
OH NO I SWIMMED OUT OF SWIM
My Boomer parents will condemn this as crap, then go back to listening to lyrics like “who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong” with absolutely no sense of irony.
Why would a union state, albeit a slave one, erect monuments to their vanquished enemy for any reason other than declaring support for white supremacy?
This is fantastic and I’d read the hell out of it. I bet nothing-left-to-lose Hillary is a goddamn riot.
The tweets and articles won’t do this one justice, folks - you have to see the video. See how angry he was, how combative he was, like he wanted to pick a fight with the press corps, with his critics, with America. Surreal.
We looked up 7,243 professors and found 3,623 to be registered Democratic and 314 Republican, for an overall D:R ratio of 11.5:1.
This is pure techbro. White dudes who think they got there on merit alone (lawl) and are trying to post-justify it, like they post-justify women and minorities being less competent. Bringing up IQ pretty much seals it.
Reads like the typical “why oh why don’t the facts bear out my prejudices?! They must be biased!” right-wing internet screed.
“As an 8 year old that messed with my head for a while and it still makes me feel terrible when I think about it.”
1) That’s a little young to expose you to a game like that.
He’s kidding, dude. It’s a pitch perfect delivery of the feelings parents go through in situations like this.
Correct. Dadtaku stories are written for parents to say “oh man yes this is bad i understand this”, not for teenagers to give unsolicited parenting advice.
Yeah, you gotta have a kid to understand it fully. My kid does amazing things at 10 months old, and yet he can also frustrate you. But those things that frustrate you are just him learning, and then when he figures out what he’s doing, it makes it okay again. It’s definitely a roller coaster. And roller coasters are…
That’s pretty awful, to tell a kid they ruined something for you is super shitty. I can understand his frustration, but taking it out on an 8 year old is horrible :/
